Nanoengineering is the act of building on the nanoscale. It gets its name from the nanometre, a unit of estimation equalling one billionth of a meter. Nanoengineering is to a great extent an equivalent word for nanotechnology, yet underscores the building instead of the unadulterated science parts of the field.
